Daniel is a Kansas native who grew up in a rural ranching community where he learned to appreciate the value of hard work and the outdoors. He enjoys spending his downtime reading, staying in shape, riding his motorcycle, hiking, and time with friends. Daniel is active in his church teaching children’s Sunday School and helping with Upward Basketball. Accomplishments Daniel is proud of include hiking the Grand Canyon, touring Ireland, completing the Topeka to Auburn half marathon under two hours, and a successful Colorado Elk hunt. However he’s most proud of his family and the support they give him every day.
Professionally Daniel has 9 ½ years working with children and families living in and around the Shawnee County area. He also has years of practice providing individual and intensive group therapy with adults. Daniel enjoys using Bowen Family Systems Theory as a primary lens of supporting patients in their recovery process. He also incorporates and regularly practices the use of mindfulness and meditation, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, and Brief Solution Focused Therapy. Those that know Daniel quickly discover that his most valued intervention is a yellow Labrador named Magnolia. Magnolia is from KSDS in Washington, KS and together they are a certified team that helps support patients in their treatment process. Magnolia provides a positive and supporting presence to all those around her and enjoys meeting (and sniffing) new friends!
