Dr. Angela Duncan

 

Dr. Angela Duncan is a licensed Clinical Psychologist. She received her PhD from the University of Kansas with an emphasis in health psychology. She completed an internship in health psychology and worked as a researcher and integrative psychologist at a medical center prior to taking a full-time professor position at Washburn University.  

Dr. Duncan specializes in research-supported approaches for overall health for individuals and groups. She is trained in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing as well as Problem-Solving and Solution-Focused therapies. Dr. Duncan also conducts psychological evaluations for spinal stimulators as well as bariatric surgery. Finally, a unique aspect of Dr. Duncan’s clinical practice is providing evidence-based, psychoeducation related to nutritional approaches to mental health, and being a liaison with amenable medical providers on nutrient-related lab testing and interventions. Dr. Duncan works with individuals and groups experiencing issues related to depression, anxiety and health anxiety, substance use, eating disorders, weight management, pain, sleep problems, and stress.

In addition to academic and clinical practice, Dr. Duncan enjoys delivering timely, evidence-based continuing education workshops and seminars.

In her free time, Dr. Duncan enjoys gatherings with family and friends, working out/staying fit, cooking, reading, listening to music, audiobooks, and podcasts, and traveling.

Dr. Duncan was brought to CFCC because of CFCC’s mission to provide faith-based care alongside evidence-based practice as well as foster a healthy work environment with other faith-centric providers.
